Gardening Olympics

Well, as usual, I'm a day late and a dollar short...okay, well, maybe only an hour or so too late...

Idaho Gardener has come up with an interesting way to get us all involved with the olympics this summer, with a Garden Olympics contest. I'm not sure she'll allow my entry, but here they are anyway...

sigh

A Gold Medal Rose bud... captured just the other day.

My pretty water lily.

and

A DADGUM BIG leaf!

Hey, it's big. It needed two pictures. Pardon the tattered manicure...sigh.

I hope the rules will be bent just a smidgen?

  1. Nancy, If it were up to me, your entries would be allowed. I think you just missed the opening ceremonies anyway. I haven't seen any rose or water lily entries yet, so I think you have the edge there. But that leaf--wow, that's a gold medal winner for sure!

  2. Boy, if you think your manicure is tattered, I'd HATE to show you mine. My entry was somewhat lame in my personal opinion but I just entered for fun anyway. I like that big leaf, that's huge.

  4. What beautiful flowers, I have to be honest flowers are my first love, with the vegie garden being a necessary evil to keeping my husband happy.:) I think with over a 100 tomatoes ready to ripen I am going to have to invite many friends with bacon over. Thanks for the comment. Once again beautiful flowers.
