Gas War!!!
I called 'Pup to ask him if there was anything on TV to explain what the heck was going on. I was expecting to hear him say either no (and it would probably be a car accident) or yes, that it was a car accident.

It wasn't a car accident. It was a Price War!
Needless to say, people were rather eager to take advantage of the situation.
This was the new Chevron station that opened up today and started the whole thing. The gas was a penny cheaper there, but I was in the wrong lane.
Why yes, of COURSE I was in on it.
I was already practically there, after all.
And this price didn't hurt any, either.

They even called the Sheriffs out to keep order.
I waited and waited... but at last, it was my turn to pump.
Oh, and just for a quick reference and comparison, this is how much gas was just about a mile down the street:
I ended up saving about 10 dollars in all. It was worth a wait.
UPDATE:
It's down to $2.12 and still dropping.

Wow! Love those prices! Yesterday we filled our small tank (diesel) at $4.19 which beat the heck out of the "normal" $4.69. Quite a savings when the small tank holds 38 gallons. Right now, the larger 50 gallon tank stays empty. :(
Hey, I hope that starts heading our way. We're always on the top end of things.
Wow I heard about that yesterday. I wish the gas war would move up here to North Central Texas!

Great price! We are paying 3.86 a gal right now. :( It makes you wonder how they can sell it that cheap when everyone is over a dollar more. Hmmmm....
3.85 here!
