And I think he is bothered too. There was a change in his manner when he came to the 'awkward' part. He looked embarrassed; miserable even.
I think he must be in a very difficult position. I expect he has been given information which he was not privy to until he became president and that has frightened him.
At the same time, fighting terrorism by withdrawing liberties seems neither right nor moral. It is likely to agtagonise people further and it is daft to defend liberty by withdrawing it.
As the commentator mentions, we have had debates like this too. And house arrest has been introduced - something I associate with apartheid South Africa. Threats may be frightening - but so are arrests and detention without charge.
On a less serious note. I hope mentioning you on HUGH AND CAMELLIA is ok. If not, let me know and I'll change it.
Maddow's position and that of her idiot guest make perfect sense if one is, as they are, talking about "criminals," rather than enemy combatants captured outside the United States.
I'm a teacher, and a good one. I taught in public schools for almost 20 years until I had surgery. If you want particulars, google Laminotomy and recessed spinal stenosis, bilateral lumbar radiculopathy and get ready to wince.
I had surgery in December of 2004 and haven't been back in a regular classroom since. I miss the classroom, I now know that I'll never feel up to that particular challenge again.
I'm enjoying my part-time tutoring jobs, so I'm not suffering from complete withdrawl of my teaching addiction.
I like gardening, taking pictures and sharing them. Leave a message if you stop by, I'd love to know if you've been here!
