List This One Under: HUH???

The darnedest thing happened to me on the way home from work the other day. It's never happened to me before, and it's not something I thought would ever happen to me.

What was it? Let me tell you the story.

There I was, in my 1996 Saturn, driving home. I noticed a motorcycle coming alongside me. I notice motorcycles. This was a big red one. What kind..I dunno. It was big, had one of those seats built for two and had some storage cases on the back and sides. It looked substantial. The guy riding it was about my age, mustached, long hair tied back, and a bald pate. No helmet, though he was wearing jeans, gloves and boots.

He pulled up a little and waved his hand at me, and pointed at my front tire. Thinking he'd spotted something wrong, I rolled down my window.

"Hello!" says he, with a big grin. "Where ya goin'?"

"Uhhmmm...home." I said.

"My name's Rob, what's yours?"

"Uhmmm...Nancy. Hello, nice bike. Is there a problem."

"Ah no problem! I just wanted to ask if I could call you later tonight."

? (inside my head--) Boing!

"Ahh, uhmmm, I don't think my husband would like that very much, sorry."

"Oh well. You have a nice night!"

"Thanks, you too."

As he pulled away, I had a sudden urge to try to catch up with him. I wanted to say "Thanks". It's not every day....heck, until then... it hadn't been ANY day... that this 48 year old woman gets hit on while driving. Come to think of it... it doesn't happen too often when I'm NOT driving either.

Sometimes, a little respectful flirting makes a girl's night.

Thanks Rob!

Odd, Very, Very Odd...

'Pup and I were grabbing a quick bite to eat at a restaurant near where I-10 and the Beltway 8 intersect. As I glanced outside the window, I suddenly noticed a whole convoy of ambulances going by. I counted, 1, 2.....11, 12, ....14.....18... and then a lull... and another convoy including some white transport buses and a police car... then another with 14 and ANOTHER with 11. And that's just what we saw in about a half an hour.

All headed West. All had passed by most of the hospitals in Houston, including Memorial Herman, Memorial (yah... later).... and the next hospital would have been a smaller, satellite hospital in Katy, then nothing until Sealy, about 30 miles after that.

Where were they going? Why today?

Evacuations would have been yesterday and the day before, not today.

What in Hades is going on??

Okaaaayy

Humm.

I'm not sure WHY we had a pet pig. Nor am I sure about why it was covered in painted flowers, kinda blocky (as it it was kinda SQUARE) and seemed to be made of concrete.

Still and all, it must have SAID something I thought was funny.

Has anyone ever woken up from a dream laughing? Other than me, I mean?

'Pup says I went from a smile to a giggle to a full blown guffaw before he woke me up to ask what was so funny.

Damn. I sure wish I could remember the joke.... and the punchline.
